UK - Student Visa

The UK offers student visas for individuals looking to pursue education at UK universities or institutions. As of my last update, the main student visa for the UK is the Student Route visa, which replaced the Tier 4 (General) student visa.

  1. Sponsorship from Educational Institution: To apply for a UK student visa, you’ll need an offer of a place from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor (university or college) in the UK.

  2. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): Once accepted, the institution will provide you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). This is a unique reference number that you’ll use in your visa application.

  3. Financial Requirements: Applicants usually need to show they have enough money to cover tuition fees and living expenses. The specific amount can vary depending on the institution, location, and course duration.

  4. English Language Proficiency: Applicants might need to prove their proficiency in English, usually by passing an approved English language test, unless exempted.

  5. Application Process: Complete the online application form, pay the application fee, and schedule a biometrics appointment at a visa application center. You’ll also need to submit necessary documents including your CAS, passport, financial statements, and evidence of English proficiency.

  6. Biometric Residence Permit (BRP): If your application is successful, you’ll receive a 90-day entry vignette in your passport, and upon arrival in the UK, you’ll need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).
